Assistant Groundskeeper Intern – Football Training Camp

Join our dedicated grounds crew at a professional football training camp in Oxnard, CA. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of sports field maintenance and turf management during an intensive summer training season.

Duration: Mid-July to End of August (to be confirmed)

Schedule: Weekdays & Weekends | Two 4-hour shifts per day

Shift Times: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: $16/hour + Housing (shared double room)

Positions Available: 2 Internships

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily maintenance of football practice fields, including mowing, watering, cleanup and Perform NFL required field testing and reporting

  • Operate turf maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, blowers, and other power tools.

  • Maintenance of equipment (mainly backlapping and regular maintenance)

  • Help monitor field conditions and assist with turf repairs as needed.

  • Ensure the grounds remain safe, clean, and professional in appearance.

  • Collaborate with the Sports Field Director to ensure smooth field operations.

Schedule Details

  • Duration: Mid-July through End of August (to be confirmed)

  • Shifts: Two per day

    • Morning: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM

    • Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Availability: Must be available to work weekdays and weekends

Compensation & Benefits

  • Wage: $16 per hour

  • Housing: Provided in a shared double room for the duration of the internship

  • Positions Available: 2 interns will be selected for this program

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

  • Comfortable operating groundskeeping equipment (mowers, tractors, blowers, etc.) or willing to learn

  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions

  • Previous experience with groundskeeping (any sports)
